Whirlpool 7.5kg Front Loader Washing Machine
All my washing is done without been squeezed hashly. I hang them on the line without seeing any crisis and some clothes I don’t even have to iron after the wash.
Rinsing is just perfect with completely foam free. My clothes did not fade away but still looking good.
It is loud but does the job well.
Faster washing operates well without fiddling with buttons, Energy saver 6., Delicate wash I love, Daily wash, Handwash/ cold Gentle spin, Antibacterial and 6th Sense.
This machine is so well made that I will not change this brand to any other. Now my machine is on last leg. Red Button warning clean pump. Now I will be looking for trusted brand name 'Whirlpool' This lasted me 8yrs for less than $700. Go Whirlpool!!!

Unreliable & rusty
The mother board has packed it in twice, outside of warranty, so that's cost me quite a bit. But moreover, it has me on tenterhooks wondering when it will break down again; both servicemen who have done the repairs have assured me that this machine is a piece of rubbish. Its original white finish is now decorated all over with lots and lots of RUST! Good one, Whirlpool!! You are obviously going into competition with the Chinese in the poor quality stakes.

Whirlpool WFS1071BD Circuit board keep burning
Circuit board of this machine is faulty. Burned after 1.5 years, replaced under warranty. Another year and a half burned again. This time no warranty, I've got the service have look at it (paid service fee), Whirlpool won't accept the fact. No help at all. Terrible machine and customer service. Never a Whirlpool again.

Rusty piece of junk.
Our previous Whirlpool top loader was awesome. Our Whirlpool fridge is still brilliant after 8 years. Our WFS1071BD front loader is a rusty piece of junk. How in the world did Whirlpool end up making this thing. We bought ours in 2009 and it will not last long. It has flooded a few times and water will start leaking with all the rust. This is such a pity after having an excellent machine before. It is time to start looking for a replacment that will not rust. Whirlpool should admit this machine was a lemon and help current owners find a new machine at a discounted price.
Works well washing clothes.
Poor quality with lots of rust.

Boxing Day Sale Special WFX1071BD - got nearly 2.5 years out of it.
Got this at Good Guys in late 2010 (just before the new consumer law came in) for $400.
The mainboard died in the first year, and it was under warranty. We didn't think to get the extended warranty, which in hindsight was a mistake. The warranty service guy was prompt and friendly and recommended that we get an extended warranty for everything these days as the electronics are all rubbish.
The replaced mainboard carried on for another year and a half and just died. Whirlpool made it clear we'd have to pay for an out of service check, so after google-ing possible issues we decided to get someone independent to look at it in the vain hope it might be something minor and could be repaired.
Unfortunately our service fellow has confirmed that the mainboard has died again and that with labour a replacement mainboard will be about $360. Nearly what we paid for it (yes, it was cheap) but with only a 60 day warranty.
Not worth replacing the mainboard of course. Particularly on these figures.
Worked very well when it worked, but it's pretty pathetic that the electronics are so weak. We only used it 4 times a week.
Not really sure there is a point in buying Whirlpool again? If we factor in the cost of the latest service check, it cost us $17.50 a month. Possibly everything that washing machine manufacturers make is going to die after a few years so we can get something that works well while it works, and only costs us that amount, it might be fair. We've been warned that even the machines that have a mechanical interface are also electronic, so this might be the logical option.
When it was good, it was very very good.
When it was bad, it was horrid.

Not worth the money
I bought this machine in July 2009 and it is starting to rust under the control panel. I bought extended warranty but they don't cover it. I spoke to Whirlpool and they say that since it is past the warranty its not their problem. Not good enough if you ask me. Will never buy another Whirlpool product again as they are not built to last!
Rusts & Whirlpool don;t want to know about it.

I strongly do not recomend
I bought this washing machine 2009 Oct. Within a year, a part came off. And now I have another serious problem. Every time I wash I have brown spots on my cloths. I clean the filter regularly. Customer support did not support me at all, just said I should call service men.

Work's as intended
I luckily received one of these washing machines for free from a family member (they owned it for 2-3 years). We've had it for over 2 years now and other than leaving a small puddle on the floor after heavy loads has been completely problem free. It is very noisy however and it would be good if they stated the time it will take to for each load to finish (I don't know how long certain settings will take and it's really frustrating to plan your day when you have to wash something on a setting you haven't used before).
Reliable, Cleans Quite Well
Small puddle left on the floor when doing a heavy load, noisy, slow, doesn't tell you how long a load will take

Great machine, works a charm
Great to have the choice of settings. Cleans perfectly and is relatively quiet.
The cheat sheet supplied gives the length of each cycle so you can choose the one most applicable. The great 7.5kg is helpful when washing lots of towels and sheets. Very easy to use.
Would definitely recommend!
Energy efficient and a good choice of settings

Hate it!!!!
Takes too long, is too noisy, stops for no reason, has flooded my laundry 6 times, doesn't rinse properly... Worst machine I have ever owned! First & definitely the last whirlpool product I ever buy! I have only had it 4 months and am currently waiting for repair man
That it was ever made!

I bought this machine to replace my top loader and have been very happy. It is efficent, quiet and i go through alot less washing powder then i did with my top loader.
- Quick 30 min wash is very handy
- Clothes come out much cleaner/less lint then my old machine
- Very quiet
- Cannot add extra items once the load has started

Good
Bought this front load washign machine when my Bendix decided to pack it in. Was lucky to get it on sale at Harvey Norman with 6 months supply of OMO and Sydney Water $150 rebate.
Am pretty happy with the machine. Clothes come out clean, the fast wash is good to do a few items that u want to wear that day.
I generally use the 40 deg wash, and the 60-90 deg wash works well on dirtier loads.
I like the lack of options for the controls. Just pic the water temp and press the start button. Some might find this limiting, but for me it's nice to have things simple.
cheap. washes well. simple to operate
like most front loaders a decent wash takes a long time. can be a bit noisy on the spin cycle.

OK
For the money this is a pretty good machine (kicks any top loader I've even known) and if you're worried about it breaking down I would do what we did and pay for the extra warranty - not having to worry for 5 years is worth it.
It is cheaper than a lot of other front loaders. Simple dials (unlike a previous washer). Washes pretty well.
It does take a long time to run a cycle but thankfully there is the 30 min quickwash if you're desperate. It doesnt wash quite as well as my old (whirlpool) front loader and the simpler dials mean that you have less say about how you want your wash to run. I THINK it has also twice slipped down a setting mid wash (from quickwash to full wash 90 degrees!) with disastrous results.
